Welcome
This is a site where I post notes, short essays, videos, reviews and articles, primarily connected to and emerging from my research, writing and teaching. There is also always the opportunity for you to leave comments and I hope that you will.
I am an art historian and queer theorist, and author of two monographs: The Decision Between Us: art and ethics in the time of scenes; and The Logic of the Lure (see the “Books” section of the blog for further information). The latter was the first single-authored publication to bring together queer theory and art history.
I am currently working two collections of essays, Queer Finitude: Intimacy, Anonymity, Solitude; and Extinction Aesthetics: Notes on the Collective Afterlife of Things. See “Current Book Projects” for detailed information on these two book projects.
I am Full Professor at the University of Toronto, where I teach courses and supervise students in Art History, Visual Culture, and Comparative Literature.
